Barley TONIQ®*

A soothing oil sustainably sourced from upcycled barley, a by-product of beer production. It calms redness and restores balance to irritated skin. Enriched with polypeptides, it strenghtens the skin’s barrier and helps reduce visible signs of aging.‍

Centella asiatica

Most of us are on our phones and laptops for many hours a day. I wanted to add an ingredient that addresses the modern concerns about screen time exposure. Blueberry NECTA® has been proven to absorb blue (the light that comes from from digital devices). Find out more about  blue light skincare.

Essential oils

The essential oils I've chosen support healthy skin. Sweet orange oil is antibacterial, soothing and protective, so it's great for acne-prone skin. Neroli oil is well known to be help with wound healing and helps reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Apply 1 – 2 pumps to face and neck in the morning after cleansing. If you are applying to your decolletage, add an extra pump.

If you cleanse thoroughly at night then, in my opinion, only a splash of warm water is required for morning cleansing.

If your skin is on the oilier side of combination you may only need to use one pump of cream. If your skin is on the drier side of combination you will likely need two pumps. Play around until you see what your skin requires.

If you use SPF apply the SPF after you apply our moisturiser.

For an extra boost in winter or when your skin is feeling drier than normal add a drop or two face oil. Simply mix the oil in with the cream in the palm of your hand before applying.

Is this product pregnancy safe?

The essential oils in this product are pregnancy safe.

It's safest to avoid large quantities of all essential oils in your first trimester but after that it is totally safe to use products containing pregnancy safe essential oils.

Delicately scented with a blend of neroli and sweet orange essential oils. You will smell light floral and sweet, citrus notes.

As this is a skincare product for the face, the scent is subtle.

Neroli essential oil has antidepressant and sedative properties. Combined with uplifting sweet orange essential oil, this scent blend has calming qualities and can help lift your mood.

This natural face moisturiser is sustainably packaged in a refillable bottle. You only need to buy the glass bottle and pump once, and then you can simply purchase refills. This reduces packaging waste.

None of the ingredients are listed on the IUCN's endangered species list. This means the product does not contain ingredients that harm endangered species or their habitats.

Allergies

Patch testing is advised the first time you use a new product, particularly if you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies. Test a small area of skin (the inside of your elbow or inner arm for example) and observe for 24hrs to be sure there is no reaction before applying to your face.

Storage

The product is packaged in high quality blue glass to protect the oils from UV light deterioration. However, it’s important to try and store away from heat and direct sunlight to further extend shelf life.

Refillable packaging

Packaged in a sleek, refillable, cobalt blue glass pump bottle. It feels sturdy and looks incredibly smart.

After your initial purchase, you only need to buy the refills. This not only reduces packaging waste but also saves you money, as the refills come at a substantial discount.

How to refill:

Wash hands thoroughly and work on a clean surface to minimise contamination. Remove the lid from the new refill bottle. Unscrew the pump (with lid on) with the attached empty cartridge from the glass bottle. Unscrew the empty refill from the pump. When the pump has been removed, sit it upside down while you work, so that the part that touches the cream does not touch the surface you are working on. Screw the new refill cartridge onto the pump. Screw the glass bottle back onto the new refill/pump.

Airless pump benefits

This product uses airless pump technology, a non-pressurised vacuum for dispensing product. The vacuum dispensing effect draws the product out, create less product wastage and making it easy to dispense the right amount, with no mess.

The product does not get exposed to air or to bacterial contamination (no fingers will touch the product) which protects the integrity of the delicate oils and extracts and increases the overall shelf life.

How long will it last?

A bottle should last on average 3-4 months.

Recycling

The refills are made of PP plastic - check with your local council for recycling options. Refill lids are not recyclable.
