Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return my empty bottles and jars to you to re-use?
Drop down arrow

Yes! You can return your empty jars (not face oil bottles, unfortunately) to be sanitised and reused. Once you’ve collected seven glass jars, send them back to me and you’ll receive a £5 discount code for your next order as a thank you. For full details on how it works, including what to send and how to package your jars, visit the Return Your Empty Jars page.

Will the face oil make my oily skin greasier?
Drop down arrow.

Definitely not. This award-winning Face Oil is carefully formulated with lightweight, non-comedogenic oils that absorb quickly, leaving your skin soft and balanced — not greasy. In fact, many customers with oily or combination skin say it helps regulate oil production. Don’t just take my word for it — check out the 5-star reviews from others with oily skin who love the results.

Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
Drop down arrow.

Yes — all of the essential oils I use are pregnancy safe. However, it’s generally advised to avoid essential oils during the first trimester, even those considered safe. This is simply due to a lack of conclusive research, rather than evidence of harm. For peace of mind, Mama Bare Belly Oil is completely fragrance-free and formulated without any essential oils — making it ideal from day one of pregnancy. After the first trimester, products containing pregnancy-safe essential oils can be both beneficial and perfectly safe to use.

Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Drop down arrow.

Yes — I use recyclable glass jars and bottles for most of my products, and several items are available in refillable formats to help reduce packaging waste. While some lids aren't currently recyclable due to supplier limitations, I’m always on the lookout for more sustainable options as the industry evolves. You’ll find specific recycling information for each product under the ‘Storage, packaging & recycling' tab on its page. Orders are shipped in plastic-free kraft Jiffy bags or FSC-certified cardboard boxes, all fully recyclable. The corn starch filler used to protect your products is both biodegradable and compostable.

Are your products suitable for vegans?
Drop down arrow.

Most of the Amaranthine range is vegan-friendly. The only exceptions are the Cleansing Balm and Lip Balm, which contain beeswax. All other products are completely free from animal-derived ingredients.

Are your products cruelty-free?
Drop down arrow.

Yes, all products are certified cruelty-free by PETA.

Do you use palm oil in your products?
Drop down arrow.

No. All products are completely free of palm oil and ingredients derived from palm oil. Amaranthine is certified palm oil free by International Palm Oil Free Certification program.

Are your products organic?
Drop down arrow.

Amaranthine products are not 100% organic, but I support organic farming and use certified organic ingredients wherever possible. In fact, many of the ingredients I use are organic. However, some natural ingredients simply aren’t available with organic certification. To see which ingredients are organic, check the full ingredients list on each product page – organic ingredients are clearly marked with an asterisk (*).

Do you offer free samples?
Drop down arrow.

I don’t offer free samples as standard. As a small business, absorbing those costs isn’t sustainable — and I’m also mindful of the extra packaging waste that often comes with sample-sized products that may not be truly needed or used. That said, I do occasionally have small amounts of leftover product from a batch, which I hand-fill into samples and send out to regular customers at my discretion. If you have sensitive or tricky skin and want to try before investing in full sizes, I’ve introduced mini versions of the cleansing balm, face oil, and clay face masks. Just use the drop-down menu on each product page to find the mini size. You can also try several at once with the skincare set – it’s a lovely way to explore the range.

Do you offer free postage?
Drop down arrow.

Yes — I offer free Royal Mail 48 Tracked postage within the UK on orders over £50. I don’t offer free shipping as standard because, as a small business, I simply can’t absorb the cost. And honestly, there’s no such thing as free postage — larger companies often build those costs into the price of the product.I prefer to be transparent: I keep my product prices fair and only charge the actual cost of Royal Mail 48 Tracked delivery plus a little extra to cover the cost of the postal packaging.

Do you ship internationally?
Drop down arrow.

Yes — I ship around the globe, with one exception: EU countries. It breaks my heart that I can’t currently sell to our closest neighbours, but post-Brexit regulations on the cosmetics industry have made EU shipping incredibly complex for small businesses like mine. It’s still possible — just not financially viable for me right now. I absolutely plan to revisit this in the future.

Do you stock your products in any physical shops?
Drop down arrow.

I have no physical stockists at the moment.

What do I do if my products haven’t arrived?
Drop down arrow.

If your order hasn’t arrived, please email me at sarah@amaranthinebeauty.com use so I can investigate and rectify the situation.

What is your returns policy?
Drop down arrow.

I want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If your item arrives damaged, faulty, or isn’t quite right, please email me at sarah@amaranthinebeauty.com within 14 days of receiving your order.Due to the nature of handmade skincare products, I’m not able to accept returns in all circumstances — but please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to chat and will do my best to find a solution where possible.

Do I pay customs fees if I live outside the UK?
Drop down arrow.

Some countries may charge customs duties or import taxes when your order arrives. These fees are set by your country’s customs office and are the customer’s responsibility. Unfortunately, I’m not able to cover or predict these charges, so it’s always a good idea to check your country’s import rules before placing an order.
