Empty, Return, Earn

Give your jars a second life and be rewarded in the process!

Reusing glass containers is one of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental impact of packaging. Refilling and reusing glass containers reduces the demand for manufacturing new packaging, reduces waste and energy consumption.

Collect SEVEN of our glass jars and return them to me to sanitise and reuse, receiving a £5 off your next order discount code 🙌

How to return your jars

1.     Collect seven empty Amaranthine glass jars (NOT face oil bottles). Please do not return lids.

2.    Wash with hot soapy water.

3.    Remove the label if possible.

4.    Package in a sturdy box, with some sort of filler to protect the jars in transit. Re-use our packaging by keeping one of our boxes and filler for this purpose!

5.    Email me at [email protected] and let me know which containers you have collected (so I can estimate the weight of the parcel) and your sender address for the courier (Evri). Please also let me know whether you want to drop the parcel at an Evri parcel shop or have it collected at your house.

6.    I will pre-pay the courier postage fee and email you the barcode, which you can take to an Evri parcel shop or use when the courier collects (depending which you have chosen)

7.    Once I receive the parcel I will send you a £5 off discount code.

Which jars can I return?

  • Cleansing balm
  • Body crème
  • Face mask (alternatively, buy a refill and reuse your jar).

Why can’t I return face oil bottles to be reused?

In order for the containers to be re-used, they need to be thoroughly washed, dried and sanitised to prevent bacterial contamination. This is possible with the jars, however, the face oils have a narrow neck so it’s impossible to be sure that they are thoroughly washed, bone dry and effectively sanitised without special equipment (which, as a small business, I don’t have at this time).

Why do I need to collect so many jars?

Reusing glass jars is better than recycling as it takes a lot of energy to recycle. However, we also need to consider the carbon footprint of posting the jars back. I also need to cover the cost of the postage and the £5 voucher that you receive.

Can I deliver them to you in person instead of posting?

If you live in Glasgow and it’s easy for you to drop off, please email me at [email protected] to let me know that you plan to do so and I’ll look out for the parcel.
