Pregnancy safe belly oil

While there are many pregnancy-safe essential oils, it’s generally recommended to avoid all essential oils in the first trimester of pregnancy, especially when using large quantities of product.

This belly oil does not contain essential oils. Instead, I've chosen only natural botanicals for their proven health benefits. This makes it suitable for expecting mothers in all stages of pregnancy.

Body oil

This is not just a pregnancy belly oil, but can also be used as an all over body oil for dry, menopausal skin.

Scar oil

This product can also be used as a scar oil for scar management post-surgery. It can reduce itchiness and help fade the scar.

How long will it last?

This is a large 200ml bottle and should last throughout your pregnancy.

Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil*, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil*, Rosa canina (Rosehip) seed extract*, Amaranthus caudatus (Amaranth) seed extract*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf extract

*Organic

This oil is vegan friendly.

Allergies

Patch testing is advised the first time you use a new product, particularly if you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies. Test a small area of skin (the inside of your elbow or inner arm for example) and observe for 24hrs to be sure there is no reaction before applying generally.

Dispense the oil into your palms and gently massage it into your growing belly, breasts, hips, and thighs. Use morning and night throughout pregnancy.

This is not just a pregnancy belly oil, but can also be used as an all over body oil in scar management or as a body oil for very dry and menopausal skin. If using as a body oil for dry skin, apply when skin is slightly damp after a bath or shower for best results.

Key ingredients

Rosehip extract

Rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and the naturally occurring form of Vitamin A. Rosehip helps to regenerate the skin, reducing the appearance of scars and helps skin to regain its natural colour and tone. It also helps to improve skin elasticity. Great for dry itchy skin as the fatty acids help keep the skin hydrated.

Amaranth extract

Soothes and moisturises dry, itchy skin. Contains a high amount of tocopherols, squalene and anti-inflammatory plant sterols. Rich in linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic fatty acids.

Vitamin E

A powerful antioxidant that boosts hydration and smoothens skin texture. Vitamin e is a great oil for scars as it reduces inflammation, stimulates cell regeneration, and accelerates wound healing.

How it works

Moisturises dry skin and locks in moisture

I've blended omega-rich sunflower seed oil and jojoba oil, which are very moisturising. These oils are also lightweight, so they absorb into the skin quickly.

Jojoba oil also forms a thin, protective layer on the skin, preventing moisture loss and helping to keep the skin hydrated. Sunflower seed oil is rich in vitamins E and D. In addition to moisturising, these oils soften, nourish, and protect the skin.

Soothes itchy skin

As your pregnancy bump grows, stretching skin can cause itchiness. I’ve included botanical extracts of rosehip and amaranth to soothe and help relieve this discomfort. These botanicals can also ease the discomfort of dry, itchy menopausal skin.

Stretch mark prevention and scar reduction

Rosehip extract also helps to regenerate the skin, reducing the appearance of scars and helps skin to regain its natural colour and tone. It also improves skin elasticity. Vitamin e is a great oil for scars as it reduces inflammation, stimulates cell regeneration, and accelerates wound healing.

Did you know?

The word ‘Amaranthine’ refers to the plant Amaranth and a colour the shade of reddish purple. It emerged as an adjective of the imaginary flower and of anything possessing its undying quality. We loved adding Amaranth into this formulation!

Ingredient spotlight

Rosehip helps to improve skin elasticity, which supports your skin stretching as your bump grows. It also helps to regenerate the skin, reducing the appearance of scars.

Did you know?

It’s best to avoid all essential oils in the first trimester of pregnancy. In the second and third trimester, pregnancy-safe essential oils can be used.
