Natural anti-ageing face oil with bakuchiol and CoQ10

Your favourite kind of skincare ritual — just with a little more support.

If you’ve started to notice fine lines, a little less firmness, or your skin simply feels like it’s changing, you’re not alone. Face Oil+ was created for that moment — when your skin is asking for more support, but you still want to stay gentle.

It’s made with the same silky base of nourishing natural plant oils as our original face oil. Lightweight and non-comedogenic, it absorbs quickly, leaving skin feeling soft, radiant, and never greasy.

Now enriched with bakuchiol and coenzyme Q10, two gentle, plant-based actives often chosen for age-supportive skincare. Bakuchiol is a plant-derived ingredient commonly described as a gentle alternative to retinol, without the irritation often associated with retinoids.

Face Oil+ fits easily into an anti-ageing skincare routine without disrupting what you already love.

It still smells like a spa.
It still feels calming and luxurious.

If your skin’s been asking for a little more lately, this may be exactly what it needs.

Allergies and patch testing

This product contains argan oil, which is derived from the kernels of the argan tree and is technically classed as a tree nut. If you have a known tree nut allergy, please use with caution.

As always, I recommend patch testing any new skincare product before using it on your face — especially if your skin is sensitive or prone to reactions.

Apply a small amount to the inside of your elbow or inner arm, and leave for 24 hours. If no irritation occurs, it should be safe to use on your face.

The perfect choice… day or night

Face Oil+ is primarily designed as a night oil, applied after cleansing to give your skin all the nourishment it needs while you rest. But thanks to its gentle formula and non-photosensitising ingredients, you can absolutely use it in the morning too.

Unlike retinol, bakuchiol is considered stable in sunlight and isn’t associated with increased UV sensitivity, which means Face Oil+ can be used morning or night.

How to use

After cleansing, apply 3–5 drops into the palm of your hand and gently press or smooth the oil onto your face and neck.

  • If your skin is oily or combination, try 1–2 drops
  • If your skin feels dry or tight, you may benefit from 4-5 drops
  • If it feels like the oil isn’t absorbing, try reducing the amount

At night, many people find this oil nourishing enough to use on its own, without an additional moisturiser.

In the morning, it layers beautifully too:

  • Add a drop to your moisturiser for a winter moisture boost
  • Use it as a make-up primer by applying 1–2 drops as your final step
  • It’s also perfect for gua sha, facial massage, or face yoga

💡 Tip: After applying, cup your hands over your nose and take a slow breath in. The scent alone can bring a moment of calm.

A note on application

Avoid applying directly around the eyes. While Face Oil+ is gentle, it is not advised for application around the delicate eye area.

Do I use it before or after my moisturiser?

If you’re using water-based serums or moisturisers, apply these first, then finish with face oil. Read our guide on when to use a face oil in your routine.

Opening your face oil bottle

The pipette cap is tamper-evident and child-resistant — to open, press down and twist. It may feel a little firm at first, but this is intentional.

A note on travelling with your face oil

If your face oil has already been opened and is packed in a suitcase travelling in the aircraft hold, you may occasionally notice some leakage on arrival. This can happen due to changes in air pressure during the flight, rather than a fault with the bottle itself.

For this reason, I recommend keeping your face oil with you in your hand luggage, where possible. This allows you to keep it upright and keep an eye on it during travel.

If you do need to pack it in a suitcase, placing it inside a sealed pouch or bag can help protect the rest of your belongings. Many customers also choose to travel with the mini size for added peace of mind.

Is it pregnancy safe?

While many of the ingredients in Face Oil+ are considered gentle, there isn’t enough robust information about the use of coenzyme Q10 in skincare during pregnancy.
To be on the safe side, I recommend avoiding this product while pregnant - or speaking to your healthcare provider for advice.

Bakuchiol

Extracted from the seeds of the babchi plant, bakuchiol is a plant-derived antioxidant widely used in age-supportive skincare. It’s often chosen to help support the appearance of smoother skin, improved elasticity, and a more even-looking skin tone - without the irritation commonly associated with retinoids.

Bakuchiol has also been studied for its calming properties, which is why it’s frequently used in formulas designed for skin that’s sensitive, reactive, or prone to breakouts.

Think of bakuchiol as a gentler, sensitive-skin-friendly alternative to retinol. Clinical studies have shown it can deliver retinol-like benefits in supporting skin texture and firmness, but with better tolerance - making it a popular choice for those who find traditional retinoids too harsh.

I use Sytenol® A, considered one of the highest quality forms of bakuchiol, with 99%+ purity.

Coenzyme Q10

Your skin naturally produces coenzyme Q10, but levels gradually decline with age. In skincare, CoQ10 is valued for its antioxidant properties and its role in supporting skin that’s starting to feel less resilient.

It’s often included in age-supportive formulas to help improve the appearance of fine lines, protect against environmental stress, and support overall skin vitality.

Think of it as a quiet, steady boost - working in the background to help skin feel more supported and comfortable over time.

How it works

How this natural face oil supports ageing skin

As skin changes over time, it can start to feel less firm, drier, and more reactive. The skin barrier may also become less resilient, which can make skin feel sensitive or uncomfortable - especially if it’s already prone to dryness or redness.

Face Oil+ was created to support skin through these changes - gently, effectively, and without disrupting what already works in your routine.

It begins with the same nourishing base as our original face oil: a carefully balanced blend of organic plant oils rich in omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. These oils are chosen to help:

  • support the skin barrier
  • lock in moisture
  • comfort skin that feels dry or sensitive
  • leave skin feeling soft, smooth, and deeply hydrated, without greasiness

The oils are lightweight and non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog pores. They’re also naturally rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from everyday environmental stress.

To this base, I’ve added two gentle, plant-based actives - both widely used in age-supportive skincare - to offer an extra level of care:

Bakuchiol, a plant-derived ingredient often described as a gentle alternative to retinol, chosen to help support smoother-looking skin and soften the appearance of fine lines

Coenzyme Q10, a well-known antioxidant that helps support skin that’s starting to feel less firm or resilient, while contributing to a healthy-looking glow

You’ll also find squalane, a deeply moisturising ingredient that the skin naturally produces in smaller amounts over time. In skincare, squalane is valued for helping to soften the appearance of fine lines and support a smooth, hydrated complexion.

Together, this blend is designed to help skin feel more comfortable, supported, and cared for - while staying true to the calming, spa-like ritual you already love.

Essential oils

  • Frankincense is traditionally used in skincare for mature or tired-looking skin and is valued for its calming, grounding qualities.
  • Lavender is widely known for its soothing nature and is often included in products designed for sensitive or easily unsettled skin.
  • Geranium is commonly used in balancing blends and is appreciated for its fresh, uplifting character.
  • Sweet orange adds a soft citrus note and contributes to the oil’s warm, comforting scent profile.

Together, these essential oils create a gentle, spa-like sensory experience that turns daily skincare into a moment of calm.

Aromatherapy benefits and scent

Drop down arrow

One of the things customers love most about the original face oil is its scent — many describe it as a spa in a bottle. It’s part of what makes it such a cherished part of their skincare ritual.

Face Oil+ contains the same essential oil blend as the original formula, so you’ll still enjoy that same calming, uplifting fragrance — while giving your skin a little more targeted support.

The blend includes frankincense, lavender, geranium bourbon, and sweet orange essential oils. Together, they create a layered scent with fruity, floral, herbal, balsamic and citrus notes.

  • Frankincense is grounding and calming. Often used in meditation, it may help ease anxiety and slow the breath.
  • Lavender is deeply relaxing and known to reduce stress and support sleep.
  • Geranium bourbon is balancing and can help ease nervous tension.
  • Sweet orange is bright and mood-boosting — perfect for lifting your spirits.

It’s not just skincare — it’s a moment of calm, created with care.

Wherever possible, I use organic ingredients — not just for your skin, but because organic farming is better for the planet, using less energy and creating fewer emissions. Face Oil+ contains 76.5% organic ingredients.

The frankincense essential oil used in Face Oil+ comes from Boswellia carterii — a species that is not on the IUCN Red List. (You might have heard about Boswellia sacra, a similar species that’s considered near-threatened. That one isn’t used here.)

And the Bakuchiol? It’s sustainably sourced from the wildcrafted Babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), manually harvested in Central India. Only the top part of the plant is picked — so it can regrow naturally, year after year. The manufacturer uses less than 10% of the global seed crop, protecting the plant’s future while sharing its benefits.
