Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can return your empty jars (not face oil bottles unfortunately) to be reused. Collect SEVEN glass jars and return them to me to sanitise and reuse, receiving a £5 off your next order discount code. Please see the 'return your empty jars' page for more information
Definitely not. The face oil is formulated with lightweight oils that are absorbed quickly, leaving no greasy residue. Don’t just take my word for it - read some of our 5-star reviews, many from customers with oily or combination skin.
All of the essential oils that I use in our products are pregnancy safe. However, it is advised that if you are in your first trimester that you should avoid essential oils completely, even pregnancy-safe ones. This is not to say that they will do any harm, more just that there hasn’t been enough research done on the subject. Mama Bare Belly Oil is fragrance free and has been formulated without the use of essential oils. Once you are past your first trimester, pregnancy-safe essential oils can be very beneficial in many ways and can be safely used.
I use recyclable glass bottles and jars for most products. Unfortunately, some lids that are available to purchase from our suppliers are not recyclable at this stage. However, the sustainable packaging industry is constantly evolving, and I will keep pushing forward with more sustainable packaging options as they become available to us. You can find details on recycling our packaging on each product page, under the ‘directions’ tab. I post your orders in plastic-free kraft Jiffy bags or FSC cardboard boxes, which are fully recyclable. The corn starch filler that protects your products is biodegradable and compostable.
Two products, Cleansing Balm, and Lip Balm, contain beeswax and are therefore not suitable for vegans. The rest of the product range is vegan.
Yes, all products are certified cruelty-free by PETA.
No. All products are completely free of palm oil and ingredients derived from palm oil. Amaranthine is certified palm oil free by International Palm Oil Free Certification program.
Our products are not 100% organic. Amaranthine supports organic farming and use organic ingredients where possible, in fact most of the ingredients I use are certified organic. However, it is very difficult, if not impossible to find certain ingredients with an organic certification. To see which ingredients are organic, have a look at our A-Z ingredients list or under the ingredients tab on each product page.
I don't offer free samples as standard. As a small company, I'm unable to absorb the financial implication this would have. I also believe the extra packaging for sample-size products that may not be truly wanted or used would have a negative impact on my sustainability goals. Occasionally I have small amounts of product left over from a batch that I make into samples and send to our regular customers at our discretion. I know that if you have tricky skin, you might want to try out a new product before investing, which is why I introduced mini versions of our cleansing balm, facial oil and clay face masks. Just click the drop-down menu on the product pages to find the mini sized variants. Our minis bundle is also a great way to try a few different mini sized products.
I offer free Royal Mail 1st class postage within the UK on orders over £50.
I don’t offer free postage as standard. As a small business i simply can't afford to do this. The truth is, there isn’t such a thing as free postage and companies that offer this have usually included the postage costs into the price of their product. I prefer to be transparent, keep my product prices fair and only charge what the actual postage and packaging cost is for Royal Mail 48 tracked - I don’t make any profit on this, I promise!
I ship around the globe, except, unfortunately, to EU countries. It’s crazy that I can't sell to our closest neighbours, but restrictions put on the cosmetics industry since Brexit has meant that I have had to temporarily halt selling to the EU. It is still possible but requires a financial investment, which isn't something I'm currently able to undertake but is something I plan to revisit in the future.
I have no physical stockists at the moment.

Due to the nature of handmade skincare products, I’m not able to accept returns in all circumstances. However, please don’t hesitate to get in touch —I’m always happy to chat and find a solution where possible.
Some countries may charge customs duties or import taxes when your order arrives. These fees are set by your country’s customs office and are the customer’s responsibility. I’m not able to cover or predict these charges, so it’s always a good idea to check your country’s import rules before ordering. In the past, small packages sent to the USA didn’t usually incur customs fees, but this may have changed recently—please double-check just to be safe!
